The Groom, Matthew Eisermann, and the Bride, Sarah Gonzalez, have been life long Spurs fans. Eisermann even attended Spurs youth basketball camps as a kid. The couple, who met in January 2017 at a local bar in San Antonio, currently reside in the Northeast side of town, and made the decision to tie the knot at the Frost Bank Center.
“The Spurs have always been a big part of our relationship. [We go] to games for dates and [watch] as much as possible.”- Matthew Eisermann, Newlywed.
Spurs SF Harrison Barnes, when asked about his thoughts on the newlyweds making the decision to get married, told SPURFECT with a sense of humor:
“They picked a great game to get [married] too (laughs). I don’t know them, but I wish them the best of luck. Obviously, they made a great decision in terms of the team they chose to support. Hopefully this is a good omen moving forward.”

Gonzalez’ favorite Spurs player is Sean Elliott, and the bride wore a white and black Elliott jersey to tie the knot. Per Gonzalez, the jersey made for great wedding apparel. When Gonzalez isn’t able to attend the games, she loves listening to his commentary.
Eisermann’s favorite Spurs player of all time is Tim Duncan. And while they reminisce on players of the past, they made the decision to get married now because per Eisermann, they just ‘couldn’t wait another season to get married.’
Spurs interim Head Coach Mitch Johnson also gave his thoughts in a humorous manner regarding the halftime vows. “Good luck.” He told SPURFECT, with a big grin on his face.

Per Eisermann, saying ‘I do’ during a Spurs game was “oddly easy.”
“We focused on each other in the moment even with all the excitement of the stadium. After we said, ‘I do’, it just felt like winning the championship.”
That's so cute! The official Spurs Couple!!
